If you're like me, your brain quickly gets filled with enormous amounts of information, only some of which it can retain. That's why I try to write things down and store them in a place where I can easily retrieve them if needed.
Obsidian is the heart of my system. It's where I store most of what I need to remember. The simple graphic shows how information goes from my brain (the red-bordered box) to Obsidian, either directly via notes, tasks and projects - or via reading and highlighting tools, Kindle and Readwise/Reader. The one major exception is PDFs which I usually store in DevonThink because I have so many of them, and find DevonThink's interface and search functionality most suitable for this purpose.
